ITEM 2 Minutes of
the last meeting on 21st November 2005 were agreed and signed as correct.
ITEM 3 Matters
arising – The
Clerk reported that a lid had now been fitted to the water butt at the Leisure
Plots.
The
Clerk had received a copy of the email sent to Ian Bishop at Highways by County
Councillor Hammond, but as yet there had been no response. Action: The Clerk to ‘politely chase’
Councillor
Charles reported that all phase one of the Tree work had now been completed; in
the process some damage had been done to the hill in the play area of the
Turkey Farm. Councillor Charles will be ‘ensuring’ the repairs are done. Action: Councillor Charles to liaise with
the Contractors.
Councillor
Mrs Chambers reported that she had received a complaint from a resident of
Nutcroft that the work had shown up a pile of rubbish that needed removing.
Councillors Charles and Pearman said there had been no work done in Nutcroft. Action: Councillor Charles to investigate.
Councillor
Mrs Chambers reported that the work requested by the Grass Cutting Contractors
would be undertaken in the next week.

The Clerk reported that when there were cars parked at the footpath side of the Green, rather than being a ‘traffic calming’ measure, cars were actually going up the curb on the other side of the road and the grass is being churned up there. After discussion it was agreed that Councillor Charles will contact Rod Leggetter and ask why Councillor Pearman’s field had not been used and why there was no marshalling of parking, as had been agreed. Action: Councillor Charles to email Rod Leggetter.
The Clerk asked Councillor Charles if the tree on the Turkey Farm had been removed. He will chase it up. Action: Councillor Charles to chase up tree removal.
The ‘Compulsory Unpaid
Work’ suggestion will be on January’s agenda when the Clerk had done more
research.
The Chairman gave a
report on the ‘drop-In’ session. It was considered, on the whole, to be a
success, however he expressed disappointment that there had been fewer people
from Datchworth than Tewin. It will be worth holding another session at a later
date.
The Chairman also
reported that Ian Walker, the Chairman of the Village Hall, had expressed an
interest/willingness to compile the Village Directory on the next occasion,
which should be in 4 years time.
